Active members who are eligible in the Greater Pennsylvania Carpenters' Medical Plan are eligible for weekly disability benefits (sick pay). The weekly disability benefit will be payable to the member if, while covered by the Plan, becomes disabled and unable to work because of a non-occupational accident or sickness.
Disability payments are made by the Greater Pennsylvania Carpenters Medical Plan (TIN: 23-7007718). The Plan will send the employer a notice of payment with the member's name, member's social security number, amount of benefit paid, amount of FICA tax withheld and date paid. The Medical Plan makes deposits of withheld employee FICA tax. It is the employers liability for the employer part of FICA and FUTA tax.
The Greater PA Carpenters Medical Plan will furnish the employer with a quarterly sick pay statement by 15th business day following the end of the quarter and annual sick pay statement by January 15 of the year following the year the sick pay was paid.
