New Password Requirements for Retirement Directions Website

Vested Interest strives to implement the most effective security controls for our plan participants. As a measure to further preserve and strengthen that security, Vested Interest will be implementing new password requirements for access to the Retirement Directions Web Site. In addition, new PIN requirements for the Vested Interest Response Line will also be implemented.

2009 Option Statements

If you qualify for an 2009 Option Statement, it will be included in your third quarter Greater Pennsylvania Carpenters Annuity and Savings Fund statement from PNC Vested Interest. These statements will be mailed on October 14th. If you enrolled in statement on demand at PNC Vested Interest, you can download your statement on October 14th.

Option checks were released by PNC Vested Interest on Thursday December 1st.

Vested Interest Enhanced Education Center

PNC Vested Interest is pleased to announce an expansion to our Retirement Directions website. Plan participants will now have access to an expanded Education Center.

The Education Center will host a variety of educational planning tools, such as Calculators, iCharts, Tutorials and Business Week Articles. These items will rotate on a quarterly basis (with the exception of the Business Week Articles that will change monthly). Participants will be able to utilize the interactive tools to assist them with managing their retirement account. Also in the Education Center will be plan specific and general communication articles.

We encourage you to take a moment to access the Education Center via the participant side of www.retirementdirections.com. For your convenience, we are attaching a communication bulletin outlining the features of the Education Center.

Notice for Participants of Greater Pennsylvania Carpenters Pension Fund and Greater Pennsylvania Carpenters Annuity and Savings Fund

The Pension Fund and Annuity and Savings Fund have each been amended to maintain their favorable tax status under the Internal Revenue Code.

As part of the amendment process, applications will be filed with the Internal Revenue Service for determinations that the amended Pension Fund and the amended Annuity and Savings Fund satisfy the Internal Revenue Code requirements for favorable tax status.

In order to file the applications, the IRS requires that you be notified of your right to submit comments to the IRS on the amended Pension Fund or the amended Annuity and Savings Fund. The link below notify of your right to submit comments and explains how to do so. No action is required on your part if you do not wish to submit any comments.
